Job Description

The Cyber Security Analyst is an expert level threat detection and response analyst within 2C2P’s Security Operations Centre (SOC). The mission of 2C2P SOC is to protect and defend 2C2P against cyber-attacks targeting the financial payments sector.

The Cyber Security Analyst ensures that potential cyber threats are detected, investigated and escalated in a timely manner by SOC. If required, the Cyber Security Analyst is also capable of providing focused effort and analysis of potential cyber incidents.

• Ensure cyber threats are detected, responded and/or escalated in a timely fashion
• Ensure cyber threat detection tools are maintained, reviewed and effective in detecting cyber threats
• Ensure SOC metrics and trending, including the health of the security monitoring systems are collected, reviewed and analyzed timely
• Monitor and triage cyber threat information from news and security logs
• Maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), processes and guidelines
• Ensure IT compliance within SOC operations are met
• Participates in the security incident handling efforts in response to a detected incident

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma with at least 5 years of work experience in detecting and responding to cyber threats, preferably in a SOC environment.
• Professional cyber related membership and certification is preferred.
• Experience in Financial or Banking Industry is preferred, but not a must.
• Proven effective verbal and written communication skills.

Abilities required

• Apply techniques for detecting host and network-based intrusions using intrusion detection technologies.
• Communicate complex information, concepts, or ideas in a confident and well-organized manner through verbal, written, and/or visual means.
