The role will be responsible for providing tax support to the Group, ensuring full compliance with all local and internationally applicable tax rules within the APAC region, tax provision and planning, formulate and improve existing processes, review tax filings and reports, and resolve issues and inquiries such as transfer pricing, corporate tax matters and lead/support in occasional ad-hoc projects. This position is based in Singapore.

Job Description

  • Provide tax advice in the region on tax compliance matters, tax planning ideas, tax audits and tax litigation.
  • Assisting in the implementation of transfer pricing policies within the APAC region which includes transfer pricing documentation.
  • Work cross-functionally with the teams to provide clear, consistent, and comprehensive tax guidance in a timely manner.
  • Proactively monitor regional and local legislative developments, evaluate potential impact, and assess measures to optimize ongoing operations and/or mitigate risks.
  • Provide direct tax support in the implementation of tax and business driven projects, including M&A, internal structuring, business integration, financing arrangements, dividend distributions and capital contributions or repayments.
  • Ensure compliance on corporate tax filing requirements and timelines for all entities.
  • Review and ensure indirect tax and withholding tax recordings are properly classified and captured in the system.
  • Dealing with both direct and indirect tax audits and providing support to tax aspects of statutory audits.
  • Responsible for all Singapore tax compliance matters including corporate tax returns and GST.
  • Support tax matters relating to other countries in APAC, as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree Accounting; chartered accountant, CPA or professional qualifications in Tax preferred.
  • At least 6 years of tax experience, preferably with a combination professional accounting firm and commercial tax experience.
  • Strong knowledge of APAC income tax matters; working knowledge of transfer pricing and indirect tax principles is a plus.
  • Excellent command of English, with good written, oral and presentation skills as well as the ability to communicate complex tax issues clearly to non-tax audiences.
  • Organized, self-motivated and able to manage multiple and complex tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to provide recommendations.
  • Experience in FinTech company would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge on US GAAP would be advantageous.
