LUMI Charging is a Singapore-based electric vehicle (EV) charging platform and operator.

Incorporated in Singapore in 2022, LUMI Charging is an electric vehicle (EV) charging and services platform that empowers EV operators across Southeast Asia. LUMI Charging functions as a complete, end-to-end turnkey solution that aims to reduce time-to-market, lower operational costs, and facilitate full brand control.

To this end, LUMI Charging comprises three core products:

  • LUMI Charge: Built for consumers, LUMI Charge is an EV charging mobile app that provides EV owners with a seamless charging experience
  • LUMI CSMS: Built for EV charger operators, LUMI CSMS is an intelligent management system that enables operators to oversee their charger network and manage revenue.
  • LUMI POS: LUMI POS is LUMI’s point-of-sale (POS) system to facilitate payments from EV owners utilising its chargers.
The Challenge

LUMI Charging’s main challenge was managing a highly fragmented payment experience. This problem was exacerbated by their expansive EV operator network and, subsequently, their international EV driver base, which had different payment needs and preferences depending on their localities. This fragmentation hampered many EV charging point operators’ ambitions to scale.

To resolve this issue for their network, LUMI Charging was looking for: 

  • A solution that consolidated multiple local payment methods from different countries
  • A seamless way to integrate new payment solutions with LUMI Charging’s existing system
  • An automated means to collect, track, and reconcile transactions
How we helped

LUMI Charging adopted 2C2P’s Payment Gateway (PGW) solution, enabling them to support more payment options, including local payment methods, and offer a more consistent payment experience across their EV charging network. 

This also meant less operational work for them and their EV operator partners, as 2C2P’s systems allowed them to automate payment collection and reconciliation across all these channels.

Of particular note is 2C2P’s speed. LUMI Charging can now enable and deploy multiple payment methods with just one platform, drastically slashing the time-to-market for EV operators from months to just a few weeks.

LUMI Charging also highlighted 2C2P’s meticulous and responsive support throughout pre- and post-deployment periods, noting that 2C2P ensures that the needs of LUMI Charging and its EV operator partners are met every step of the way.

Aside from the Payment Gateway solution, LUMI Charging has also tapped 2C2P’s softPOS solution to facilitate quicker and easier credit/debit card, QR code, and digital wallet payments via their mobile app.
