The Challenge

ONYX Hospitality Group’s payment system was once fragmented, as it grappled with varying card schemes and acquirer rules that differed from country to country. Accepting payments from guests with diverse payment preferences and across different properties became increasingly complex

While Thai guests might have preferred to use local payment methods such as PromptPay, for example, international travelers sought other payment methods, including Apple Pay, Google Pay, American Express, Diners Club, and Discover.

As the group continued to expand beyond Thailand’s borders, operating across multiple markets also made it difficult to maintain a consistent security posture that was compliant with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) standards. 

They needed ways to support more payment options and secure transactions without significantly increasing friction in the checkout process, so that the overall user experience would feel effortless.

  • A way to accept payments via various cards and Alternative Payment Methods (APMs), while ensuring all these payment channels can be managed through one platform 
  • A solution that secures every transaction and simplifies PCI DSS security compliance
  • A way to speed up the checkout process and ensure quick, intuitive bookings

ONYX Hospitality Group tapped 2C2P’s Payment Gateway (PGW) solution to expand the scope of its payment methods. With 2C2P’s PGW, the group can now accept local and global payment methods, allowing their guests to pay with their preferred options.

2C2P’s systems are also outfitted with robust security measures and certified according to the most stringent security standards, including PCI DSS certification. Once integrated with ONYX Hospitality Group’s existing system, 2C2P’s Payment Gateway provided the group with a simple yet powerful way to strengthen its security posture for payments.
